INSTALLATION PLANNING

Mortar in the field.

This original STRIKING DEALS illustration identifies the product family and installation workflow without copying a manufacturer or third-party image.

It is a sourcing and coordination visual, not an installation drawing. Supports, connections, clearances and code requirements must be verified for the selected product and project.
MANUFACTURING

How the material is commonly made

Cementitious products are commonly manufactured by proportioning cement, graded aggregate and controlled additives. Dry components are blended for uniformity and packaged; ready-mix concrete is batched with water at a plant or mixer. Mix design, water ratio, strength development and curing requirements are product- and project-specific.

MATERIAL

Composition and construction

Portland or blended cement, aggregate and product-specific admixtures. Fiber, pigment, accelerators, retarders or specialty binders may be included only when identified on the selected data sheet.

CONFIGURATIONS

Common ways to specify it

  • Bagged dry mix or ready-mix supply
  • Strength, exposure and placement requirements
  • Standard, rapid-setting, repair or specialty formulation
  • Bag, pallet, cubic-yard or project quantity
APPLICATIONS

Typical construction uses

  • Footings, slabs and walls
